Anti-Parasitic Spray 50 ml. Liquid concentrate. $25 (Note: When mixed makes 2 lt. spray) Herbal approaches to parasites all revolve around discouraging rather than killing them along with support for the body's own defences. I prescribe individual formulations in a concentrated extract form and these are mixed with Vinegar and or with Methylated Spirit and sprayed onto affected areas after wetting down. The herbal agents are carried down the hair to the skin and remain as a residue providing a most discouraging environment to parasites. This approach is similar to the herbal approach to worming, leaving the animal's skin and defences healthy and much more able to repel and resist any parasitic attacks in the future.
Re-Conditioning Blend 12 kg. Dose 1 cup twice daily: $290 (Note: The treatment is shipped in a 20 lt. bucket and is sufficient for a 5-6 week course) This mixture is the primary rehabilitation tonic for horses which have suffered a major health breakdown, been poisoned, bitten by a snake or have, for other reasons, developed liver or kidney damage or are recovering from a major illness, surgery or accident. Even if so severely debilitated that there seems no option but to put the animal down, appropriate treatment for shock along with the Re-Conditioning blend to restore metabolic harmony can return the horse to health and to work. A horse going for surgery should be prepared before, and treated immediately afterward, using Rosehips and other tonic extracts and should be given the Conditioning Blend as a supplement during recovery. This mix will have an animal back on its feed and recovering its condition within days. It will be protected from repercussions and relapses during recovery and spelling time will be reduced dramatically. Because of its health-giving properties it is also often used to prepare a horse for sale. The aim is to present the horse in the best all round health as displayed by its condition generally and the state of its coat, hooves, eyes and nervous disposition.
Stringhalt Mix 200 ml. Concentrated extract. Dose 60 drops twice daily: $76 (Note: At the recommended dose the course will last nearly 5 weeks) Stringhalt is probably the most frustrating condition I have been faced with in my practice over the years. Various weeds like Dandelion in NSW, and Fireweed in Victoria, are blamed, but I am certain there is some fungus which inhabits these plants at times and it is the fungus which can damage the central nervous system of susceptible horses. My treatment revolves around the herbs which physically rehabilitate damage to the central nervous system and the brain itself. The aim of the treatment is to clear any fungal residue and speed the recovery, which often occurs anyway over time. The treatment is also formulated to help rebuild any muscle wastage resulting from the condition and to reduce sensitivity so that the animal will be much less likely to come down again, with Stringhalt.
Windgalls/ Capped Hocks 25 ml. Concentrated extract. Applied once daily: $26 (to be mixed 1:10 with Linseed Oil) We prescribe a super concentrated extract based on Arnica and Witch Hazel which you mix with Linseed Oil to be massaged locally over the area of the swelling. This promotes re-absorption of the fluid and healing. These extracts are extremely concentrated and must be applied sparingly and under our specific advice in each case.
